My name is Cindy Minick and I am Sanders's school counselor for grades K, 2, and 4. I have been at Sander's Elementary in Cobb County for 12 years, four of them being a counselor. Prior to my career shift, I was a spent 19 years in special education as a teacher & academic coach. I am married and we have an amazing 21 year old daughter. I also have multiple "fur babies." :)
Throughout the year, I will teach classroom lessons inclusively to kindergarten, second & fourth graders. I will touch multiple subjects that will help your child develop academically as well as grow their personal/social & career awareness.
I will meet with students individually and in small groups to address more specific issues as needed. Referrals can be made by students, parents, and teachers. The counselor suite has a mailbox where students can place their individual counselor slips. Parents are welcome to contact me with questions and concerns regarding their child's academic and personal development.
Other responsibilities I hold as a counselor include being the Response to Intervention (RTI) facilitator, 504 facilitator, a member of the PBIS team, and one of the sponsors for Leaders4Life.
If you have questions or concerns regarding your child's development here at Sander's Elementary, please feel free to contact me. My phone number is 770-819-2568 ext. 239 and my email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
