Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!

My name is Cindy Minick and I am the school counselor for grades 1, 3 & 5.  I have been at Sander's Elementary in Cobb County for 20 years.  Prior to my career shift to counseling, I spent 19 years in special education as a teacher & academic coach.  I am married and we have an amazing daughter and son-in-law and are over the moon happy to become grandparents this year.  We also have three "fur babies."

Throughout the year, I will teach classroom lessons inclusively to grades 1, 3 & 5.  I will touch upon multiple subjects that will provide your child academic support skills, interpersonal skills and personal skills.

I will meet with students individually and in small groups to address more specific issues as needed.  Referrals can be made by students, parents, and teachers. The counselor suite has a mailbox where students can place their individual counselor slips.  Parents are welcome to contact me with questions and concerns regarding their child's academic and personal development.

I  can also help with meeting student's needs by helping to provide clothing, school supplies and assist with outside counselor referrals.  Other responsibilities I hold as a counselor include assisting with  Response to Intervention (RTI) & 504's, as well as participating as a member of the leadership, local CARE team and serve as a behavioral specialist within the school.

If you have questions or concerns regarding your child's development here at Sander's Elementary, please feel free to contact me.  My phone number is 770-819-2568 ext. 039 and my email address is [email protected].
